Sand Hill cranes winter at Bosque de Apache Wildlife Reserve in Socorro, New Mexico. This picture show snow geese, which winter with the cranes, taking flight at dawn while the cranes are still sleeping. The cranes leave later in small groups to go to feed. 2008
